A simple enough process; metal of specific characteristics for different applications is heated to temperatures so as to make it soft and malleable. Closing pressures are then applied to form the normally red hot steel into one or a series of well aligned moulds or otherwise known as ‘closed dies’.

Parts are then usually quench hardened, checked for porosity and/or tensile strength and finally powder coated.
